A nice-sized piece of lovely came through the mail slot today.
Every year (increasingly?) I always get so excited to see it. And now it's here. I can think of few ways to better top off my birthday month. Yes, I lead a simple life. Honestly though, if I could decorate and furnish rooms all day for the rest of my life I'd be a happy little lady. Why do you think I spend so much time playing Sims?
Maybe I went to school for the wrong thing.
Also: Project Runway! If not for this show and Ikea publications (and ice water and ice cream) I just might die.
It was a cool 99° today, by the way. Lovin' that.

It's probably not a very good idea to start off my full work day with a big cup of cocoa made with hot milk seeing as how last time I worked a full day alone I was so tired by 6pm (I don't get off until 8:45) I found myself desperately rummaging around the back room for any amount of stale instant coffee I could find, but I figure decision-making for the day has already gone to shit considering I woke up to news that Eva Longoria was nominated for a Golden Globe.

I spent my morning going through most of my boxes in the garage. Things I found:
- photos and memorabilia from my school trip to Hawaii in 10th grade, including a print out of info on the Real World kids for intended stalking
- an old birthday card from ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) the5yeardecline
- a Phantom Planet 7" I completely forgot I ever owned
- my lava lamp
- a note from Martin of Svelte to my dad
- my high school basketball uniform (also, my golf glove)
- $30 in an envelope labeled "Happy Thanksgiving!"
- my handmade Jackie Kennedy costume which I thought I trashed (and then proceeded to trash)
- my Paul McCartney ticket stub and old Beatles fan mags
- my journals dating back to June 14, 1991 (Read: "Dear Diary, Today is the last day of second grade...")

Feeling kind of dead, and I guess it's only right I would. Another sleepless night. It feels like this is just how my life is right now, like I've made a commitment to a real lifestyle change for some reason. But no, just work. Even I can't believe how long I've gone without sleep. The last time was Tuesday morning for a couple hours. What is it now, Thursday? The days all kind of blur together when you've got nothing separating one from another.

I've spent 76 of the last 84 hours awake, and 95% of that time has been spent working, and quite productively at that!
I actually tried to lay down for a nap yesterday afternoon but I couldn't fall asleep. I spent the whole time thinking about how I was going to pull off everything required of me in the next couple days. Now I know: lots of COFFEE and a five-minute Nino Ferrer chair-dancing break every 15 hours or so, just to keep the blood (not to mention that sense of lighthearted whimsy I am so known for) in circulation.
A trend I have noticed as of today: all my film teachers seem to think I'm a total slacker/loser for the majority of the quarter. I know this not only because of the evil glares I have gotten from time to time, but also because both this quarter and last (twice is enough to qualify something as a trend, right?) after seeing my projects my teachers seem and/or have told me they were impressed and surprised. And then they are nicer to me.
And now I'm listening to Mase and Notorious B.I.G.
If my roommate were here she would be impressed and surprised.
Or at least surprised. Or maybe not really at all.
One more 7 page paper due tomorrow, and one more 5 page paper and project due Friday. Then I will sleep, if my body will allow it.
